The magic of herbs

Apr 29, 2024 6:16:14 AM

At Trophy we have developed a brand new range of herbal supplements to complement our existing products – and we have even more on the way.

You can increase the amount you give at first whilst they get into your dog’s system and then revert to the feeding instructions.

We recommend adding to their usual food or made up as a ‘tea’ (add to boiling water and strain) which can be added to food or their water bowl. To save time, you can make up the tea and store it in the fridge until you need it. You can also add the supplements to home-baked treats.

The results speak for themselves and we have had many encouraging and positive responses to confirm this.

My Springer Spaniel was quite excitable and walks were always stressful. Since taking Easy Going she has been so much better. She’ll probably always be a bit ‘springer’ but she’s now so much easier and relaxed! A Williams, Staffordshire

Do you have a nervous, excitable or anxious dog?

‘Easy Going’ is a product developed to help soothe your dog’s nervous system. The carefully chosen herbs result in a gentle, calming mix for dogs who might be nervous or over-excitable. It has been reported to help dogs with car sickness, reactions to loud noises such as fireworks and other stressful situations.

The blend contains chamomile, skullcap and vervain – all of which are calming. Lime flowers are also included as a tension reliever. Each ingredient can also help in other ways too – chamomile, for example, is an anti-inflammatory – so you get a real range of benefits from each herb supplement.

Does your dog have a sensitive tummy?

We get a lot of questions on the Trophy Care Line relating to digestive and bowel issues. Our herbal supplement ‘Digestive Aid’ is excellent for helping maintain a healthy digestive system through its inclusion of  chamomile, skullcap and mint – all great for a healthy nervous and digestive system. Aniseed helps improve appetite, promotes a healthy gut and also (thankfully) relieves flatulence! The comfrey leaf in this blend also supports the digestive system. Mint is also a natural way to relieve doggy breath which is not always the most fragrant!

We often advise customers that Digestive Aid works well with our Immune Support supplement if a dog also has allergies.

Looking for a general tonic for your dog?

‘Whole Body’ is so much more than a simple supplement – it really does address a world of dog care and is a great all-rounder. It helps your dog’s immunity levels, appetite, coat condition, organs and is even a flea repellent!

Its mix of echinacea, seaweed, milk thistle, garlic, nettle and fenugreek makes it sound like a wild potion but the combination is potent and effective. We love the fact that fleas don’t hang around a dog that has garlic flavoured blood! Milk thistle is fantastic for the liver and nettles which are great for coat and skin – even proving effective for dogs with bald patches and thinning fur.

All of the Trophy herb products work hard to promote health both inside and out, making them well worth introducing to your dog’s diet. You’ll see that some of the ingredients overlap with other products we have created – that’s all to do with their capacity to treat more than one symptom. Herbs really are the gift that keep on giving!

Halloween approaches with its festive decorations, spooky costumes, and sweet treats. While humans eagerly anticipate the holiday, it can be a challenging time for our four-legged friends. From unfamiliar sights and sounds to potentially dangerous treats, Halloween can pose various risks to our beloved dogs.

While it might be tempting to dress up your dog in a cute or funny costume, always prioritize their comfort and well-being. Ensure that the costume is not restrictive, does not impede movement, and does not have small parts that could be swallowed. Allow your dog to become accustomed to the costume before the actual event, and keep a close eye on them while they're wearing it.
